PostSubject: Skabato, Reverse-Edge Katana   Wed May 23, 2012 11:49 pm

Normally, the outward curved side of a katana is sharpened, while the inward side remains blunt. In contrast, the sakabato is made so that the cutting edge is on the inward curving side of the blade. This sword is primarily used by more pacifistic swordsmen, as normal attacks with this weapon deal nonlethal damage. As a standard action, the sword may be swung in such a way that it causes lethal damage, though at a -4 penalty on attack rolls. However, when dealing lethal damage the sakabato it deals an additional 1d8 damage and critical damage multiplier is doubled.

Exotic Two-Handed Melee
Critical 18-20/x2
Range ---
Type Slashing
Damage 1d8 nonlethal
Weight 3 lbs
Cost 100 gold
