Created with a sharp outer edge, this shield is meant to be driven into your enemies, more so as a weapon than an item of defense. As a full-round action a player may attempt to make an attack against a target, dealing 1d4 damage on a successful hit. However, with the sharpened edges of this shield, on a natural 20 (followed by a successful roll to confirm the critical hit) the immense weight and keen edge will sever your enemies head from its shoulders. If you attempt to make an attack in this fashion, you are flat-footed until the beginning of your next turn.
Any weapon enhancements that affect critical hit range or attack damage may also affect a keen shield.
